Miami Hurricanes basketball: Bracket predictions for NCAA tournament

The Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team is undefeated so far in the month of February, and that has them in a position to get a high seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Last weekend, the NCAA's Selection Committee revealed the current top 16 seeds in the men's bracket if the tournament were to start that day. While the Hurricanes (23-6 overall, 14-5 ACC) were left out of the top group this time around, the committee's Chris Reynolds said Miami was one of the teams that just missed making the cut.

That comment confirmed the consensus among college basketball's talking heads that the 'Canes are worthy and capable of earning a good position to start March Madness.

So where do the bracketology experts see Miami landing, and in which region? Here's what they're saying right now.

USA Today - 4th seed in the Midwest

As of Feb. 24, the team at USA Today Sports has the Miami Hurricanes as the 4-seed in the Midwest region. Their current projections have them facing Virginia Commonwealth in Orlando in their first round game.

Joe Lunardi, ESPN - 4th seed in the South

The top bracketologist at the Worldwide Leader also has the Hurricanes earning a 4-seed. As of Feb. 24, Joe Lunardi has Miami in the South region playing their first round game against Hofstra in Orlando.

Jerry Palm, CBS Sports - 4th seed in the Midwest

Like USA Today, Palm also has the 'Canes as the 4th seed in the Midwest playing their first game in Orlando. However, he has Miami playing Iona.

Andy Katz, NCAA.com - 5th seed in the Midwest

Katz's latest prediction has Miami as the 5th seed in the Midwest, earning a first round game against the winner of a First Four game between Memphis and Wisconsin. Katz' picks did not include projected locations for games.

Dobbertean also has the Hurricanes as a 4-seed, but out of the West region. His latest projection has Miami facing Utah Valley in Orlando.

Tim Krueger, Stadium - 5th seed in the East

Like Katz, Krueger's latest prediction also has Miami as a 5th seed, but in the East region. He has the Hurricanes leaving Florida and going all the way across the country to Sacramento to play Oral Roberts.
