Michigan State vs. Indiana: Game preview, odds, and best bets

March Madness is nearly upon us. The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is on the horizon, but first Michigan State will test itself in the Big 10 Tournament, which starts Wednesday, March 13.

Michigan State (18-12, 10-9) travels to Indiana (17-13, 9-10 Big Ten) for a Sunday afternoon game to wrap the Big 10 conference schedule. Odds for that game list MSU as a slight road favorite.

Michigan’s Best NCAA Basketball Sports Betting Sites will have more than the spread and moneyline for the MSU/Indiana game.

The FanDuel Sportsbook has two ways to get Bonus Bets for your college basketball wagering. One is to Bet $5 on any NBA Moneyline and Receive $150 in Bonus Bets. The other is to Bet $5 on any NFL Moneyline, to Get $150 in Bonus Bets. It’s important to note that all FanDuel customers get a profit boost every day when they register.

The Spartans snapped their three-game losing streak, and kept their winning streak on Senior Day alive when they defeated the Northwestern Wildcats last Wednesday.

  • Michigan State University is 16-12-0 Against The Spread this season.
  • Indiana has a record of 15-12-0 Against The Spread (ATS)
  • The OVER has occurred in 16 of the 30 games played by the Hoosiers
  • Spartans games have gone OVER in just 13 of  30 games.
  • The Spartans are 6-4 against the spread in their most recent 10 games
  • The Hoosiers are 5-5 record against the spread over their past 10 contests

The Hoosiers have trouble putting the rock in the hole. Or rather, they have a tough time placing the ball in the net or putting the biscuit in the basket. However, you want to say it, Indiana has difficulty scoring. The Hoosiers’ 73.1 points per game average is 198th in college basketball. Indiana makes only 5.1 three-point shots per game, which ranks 349th in college basketball. Their turnover ratio of 11.6 to 9.9 is 311th in NCAA hoops.

The Spartans, coached by defensive-minded Tom Izzo, might clamp down on IU and their errant offensive attack. Which is why we predict a low-scoring game in Bloomington on Sunday.

You’ll need to bet $170 to win $100 on MSU and the Moneyline. A wager on the Over/Under (141.5 points) will require $105 on the UNDER to win $100.

How many times can Tom Izzo pull a rabbit out of his hat? The Spartans are known for revving up and getting hot in March during the Izzo Era. The tournament bracket projections mostly have MSU as a 9-10 seed for March Madness. But a strong showing in the final game of the Big 10 season, followed by success in this week’s conference tournament, could push the Spartans higher. We like Sparty to topple the Hoosiers (+140 on moneyline) in Sunday’s regular season finale.
