Mizzou Hoops Presser: Illinois Week
The Missouri Tigers (10-1) and the No. 16 Illinois Fighting Illini (16-2) are playing each other tomorrow night at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Tigers lost to Kansas in the Border War Showdown less than two weeks ago. Since then, Mizzou has played one game, a "neutral site" affair against a possible NCAA Tournament team in UCF Knights.
Isiaih Mosley was absent from the last 15 minutes of practice. Head coach Dennis Gates will continue to respect Mosly's privacy. Moslee has had problems with his transition to the Tigers.
Illinois and Mizzou are playing a basketball game on Thursday. The weather is bad, but the game is still going on. Illinois has 25 wins in the Braggin' Rights series to Mizou's 15. The game offers a unique experience for Mzou players, as most of them haven't played in this rivalry game before. Terrance Shannon, Jr. got his first scholarship at a mid-major coming out of Lincoln Park High School. Gates offered him his scholarship. He wants to create his team's identity. Mzzou has a special tradition.
