MLB Odds: Giants-Marlins pick, prediction, and odds

The San Francisco Giants and Miami Marlins are playing each other on Thursday night. The Giants are third in the NL West and have been one of the better teams this season. Miami has had the opposite success, posting a 20-28 record in a much easier division.

Giants have been one of the best offensive teams in the entire league recently. Miami has been on a cold streak, losing nine of their last 12 ball games. Giants have won five of last eight games, including series victories against the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Giants will start Alex Wood against the Marlins. Wood has struggled on the year with a 4.81 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Miami has several players who are excellent in both the expected slugging percentage and expected batting average categories. The Marlins have won slightly more games when they play in LoanDepot Park.

Neither side of the spread looks great here. The Marlins should cover the over comfortably.
