Moises Caicedo next club odds: Arsenal backed to sign Brighton star in final hours of transfer window, Chelsea lurking

BRIGHTON midfielder Moises Caicedo's future is on a knife-edge in the final hours of the January transfer window.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've updated Caicedo's 'next club' market ahead of deadline day, which ends at 11pm on Tuesday.

Arsenal are desperate to strengthen their midfield ranks, and are understandably favourites to clinch his signature at 6-4.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are next in the betting at 5-1, ahead of massive outsiders Liverpool at 40-1.

However, Betfair think he's most likely to continue his journey at Brighton and have priced him at 4-7 not to sign or agree a contract with any other club.

The midfielder, 21, told Brighton in an open letter he wanted a transfer after bids from both Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Gunners failed with their original offer of £60million on Friday.

Mikel Arteta's side then tabled a new bid worth £65m plus a further £5m in add-ons, which has also been dismissed.

Brighton are adamant they do not want to sell the Ecuadorian and their stance has not changed.

However, boss Roberto De Zerbi threw a spanner in the works when revealing that Brighton are 'ready to go forward' without Caicedo.

, De Zerbi said: "I would like him to finish the season with us.

"If we don't lose Caicedo we are ready to fight. For everyone there are many solutions. We will see the best solution for him and for us."

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "Moises Caicedo is 6/4 to join Arsenal, but is odds-on at 4/7 to remain with Brighton, who have rejected two bids from the Gunners for their star man."
