MPs are champing at the bit for this year’s Grand National
The Betting and Gaming Council invited MPs to place a charity bet on The Grand National. The event is the most popular horse race in the world. It was first run in 1839. MPs from both sides of the House are taking part. They are raising money for charity. In the event that their horse loses, they will still make a £100 donation to the chosen charity, which is usually Ashgate Hospice. Caroline Nokes is supporting InFact. She is chairing the Women and Equalities Select Committee. Other MPs taking a part include 2019 Conservative MPs and former ministers.
