Rennes will be in search of another win as they begin to loosen their grip on the top six at the moment with the club set to head on the road to meet with a Nantes side eyeing up the top half of the Ligue 1 table.

It’s been a tough few weeks for Nantes since their win in the French Cup round of 16 and two Ligue 1 wins in a row over Lorient and Ajaccio. They now also have a quarter-finals battle with Lens to look forward too.

The club did then go on to draw with Juventus in their first leg of the Europa League playoffs, as Nantes then welcomed the Serie A giants to France and lost 3-0. Nantes also lost to Lens 3-1 last weekend in the league.

As for Rennes, they come into this one after losing to Shakhtar Donetsk on penalties in the Europa League, meaning both sides have been dealt with midweek European defeats.

Rennes are still in sixth, however, as they eased past Clermont Foot last weekend. They do, however, now sit outside of the European spots with Lille moving just ahead of them by one point.
