Nashville snapped their three-loss streak in MLS with a 2-1 success against fellow American rivals Toluca on Sunday evening at the start of the 2023 Leagues Cup campaign.
Substitute Hany Mukhtar and Jacob Shaffelburg bagged two second half goals to grant Nashville an important victory at the start of the competition at the weekend.
Mukhtar thus continued his phenomenal spell of form. He is still the top scorer in MLS with 13 goals in 24 appearances.
Nashville SC are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings and they will be looking to back up the mentioned win over Colorado Rapids on Thursday evening in the clash against Mexican Liga MX outfit Toluca.
