NBA futures predictions: Rookie of the Year odds, picks
Paolo Banchero was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick in June's NBA draft. Three weeks into the season, he's already the clear frontrunner to win NBA Rookie of the Year. Oddsmakers are writing off the rest of rookies less than a month into season.
Banchero is on a historic scoring pace for a first-year star. He is the only rookie to score 30 points in consecutive games this season. Mathurin is second in the league in scoring, but he's playing in a reserve role. Chris Duarte is injured and he could miss the next 4-6 weeks. He's the third rookie in 25 years to earn an All-Star nod.
Jaden Ivey is a long shot to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award. He's the early leader in assists (3.8), steals (1.5) and points (15.4 PPG), but his scoring production is still behind Banchero and Mathurin.
