NBA News: ESPN Analyst Makes Bold Knicks Prediction For 2023-24 Season

The New York Knicks blew away even the most optimistic of expectations anyone had for the team during the 2022-23 NBA season. They went 47-35, earning the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference and defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the first round of the playoffs.

While their semifinal exit at the hands of the Miami Heat in six games was disappointing, this is a team on the rise. New York has done a great job of rebuilding the roster and culture as they are once again looking to be a marquee landing spot for superstars looking for a change of scenery.

There is a lot to like about the roster. Jalen Brunson is an All-Star in waiting as he changed the culture of the franchise in his first season there. Julius Randle is an All-NBA level performer and RJ Barrett has all of the tools to become an All-Star-caliber player as well.

That is a strong trio to build around and the supporting cast is good, too. Immanuel Quickley, Josh Hart, Quentin Grimes, Mitchell Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein and the newly acquired Donte DiVincenzo are a dynamic, strong group of role players.

Throwing in the coaching of Tom Thibodeau and the style of play that the team deploys, you got something special brewing in New York. That is, at least in the opinion of ESPN’s Zach Lowe.

During a recent episode of NBA Today on ESPN, Lowe was arguing a case that we could see the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals this season. He believes the ingredients for a great season are in place in New York.

A natural development from the young guys on the roster is enough to get people excited about the Knicks’ future. If they are able to land an established superstar, such as reigning MVP Joel Embiid or two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, they would become instant contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Another strong season from the current group will put the Knicks on the radar of big-named players looking for a change of scenery.
