Orlando won the lottery for the 2022 draft and picked Paolo Banchero with the first pick. Banchro played well in his debut, scoring 27 points and adding nine rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. Jalen Suggs, Wendell Carter, Franz Wagner, Bol Bol and Bol Bola also played. The team managed 49 percent shooting rate from the field and pulled in 48 rebounds.

Trae Young averaged 28.4 points per game and 9.7 assists per games last season. John Collins scored 24 points in the opener. Dejounte Murray added twenty points and eleven assists. Clint Capela scored two points but pulled down eight rebounds.

Orlando is still a couple of years away from winning games consistently. Atlanta has more talent in this one.
