NBA Odds: Spurs-Pacers prediction, odds and pick

Gregg Popovich's team lost 129-102 to Charlotte. The team went 34-48 last season and finished in 13th place in the Eastern Conference. Indiana also lost in their first game of the season, losing 114-107 to Washington Wizards.

The Spurs lost their opener by 27 points. Keldon Johnson had a double-double with twenty points and eleven rebounds. Jakob Poeltl scored 14 points in 27 minutes. Trey Jones added 14, Doug McDermott 12, Joshua Primo 10. San Antonio shot just 21 percent from three-point range and 40 percent overall. They also shot 71 percent on their free throws.

Indiana lost the opener to Washington by seven points. Tyrese Haliburton scored 26 points and seven assists. Bennedict Mathurin scored 19 points, with two assists and two steals. Buddy Hield collected a double-double with 16 points with ten rebounds. Indiana dished out 21 assists but turned the ball over 15 times.

Both San Antonio and Indiana's defenses were poor in their respective openers.
