NBA Odds: Warriors-Pelicans, Cavs-Hawks, Celtics-Wizards (3/28/23)

The playoffs are on the horizon, and NBA games are high-stakes affairs with spring in the air.

The best NBA betting sites offer many ways to wager on the NBA, including moneylines, spreads, and over/unders. Those are the traditional ways to bet on basketball. You can also wager on NBA futures.

Here’s a look at the NBA Games Tuesday, March 28, 2023:

Boston Celtics (52-23) vs. Washington Wizards (33-42)

After a tough stretch earlier in the season, the Boston Celtics are right back to their fantastic play by winning five of their past six games. Fresh off a 44-point beatdown of the San Antonio Spurs at home, Boston will hit the road and battle with the sinking Washington Wizards. Any chance of stealing the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference from the Milwaukee Bucks must begin with a win here.

Washington has plummeted recently, dropping eight of its past ten games. The Wizards are almost certainly out of the playoff picture at this point and will look to the NBA Draft to try to improve their team this offseason. Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma will not suit up on Tuesday night, significantly reducing any prior chance of beating the Celtics at home.

  • Start Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
  • Location: Capital One Arena (Washington, D.C.)

Betting Odds Summary

  • Spread: Celtics -11 (-110), Wizards +11 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Celtics -580, Wizards +440
  • Total: Over/Under 222.5 Points (-110/-110)

Cleveland Cavaliers (48-28) vs. Atlanta Hawks (37-38)

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ winning streak has reached four games and they have also won six of their past seven. In short, this Cavs team is moving in the right direction ahead of the 2023 NBA Playoffs. Health will be a huge component in Cleveland’s success, though, and currently there are a number of players listed on the injury report, including Dean Wade, Raul Neto, Isaac Okoro, Danny Green and Jarrett Allen. Green, Neto and Wade are already listed as out, while Okoro and Allen are questionable.

The Atlanta Hawks’ consistently inconsistent season continues as they’re still hovering around .500. The Hawks have not been able to string momentum together from one game to the next, and the often inefficient play of their offense is certainly a contributing factor. Regardless, this team could be competitive in the play-in games if Trae Young gets hot at the right time.

  • Start Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: State Farm Arena (Atlanta, GA)

Betting Odds Summary

  • Spread: Cavaliers +1 (-110), Hawks -1 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Cavaliers -105, Hawks -115
  • Total: Over/Under 238 Points (-115/-105)

Miami Heat (40-35) vs. Toronto Raptors (37-38)

The Miami Heat are coming off a 29-point home drubbing at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets. Just when this team seems to find some consistency, they fall entirely back apart. Still, the Heat have an opportunity to take the sixth seed back from Brooklyn in the next seven games, which would keep them out of the play-in games. Kyle Lowry is listed as day-to-day ahead of this matchup, but the rest of the rotation seems healthy.

The Toronto Raptors have quietly won five of their past seven games, but all of those wins came at home. Still, the Raptors are in a solid spot to make the play-in games in the Eastern Conference with four games between them and the Washington Wizards. Guard play and offensive execution will be the keys for Toronto in this game against a tough Miami defense.

  • Start Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)

Betting Odds Summary

  • Spread: Heat +4.5 (-115), Raptors -4.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Heat +150, Raptors -175
  • Total: Over/Under 220 Points (-105/-115)

Orlando Magic (32-43) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (47-27)

The Memphis Grizzlies are arguably the hottest team in the NBA after winning nine of their past 10 games, most of which came without All-Star point guard Ja Morant. Now, Morant is back in the starting lineup, and the Grizzlies have garnered a ton of momentum in the last stretch of the 2022-23 regular season.

The Orlando Magic have been playing winning basketball for a large portion of the year. In fact, if you remove the first third of the season, the Magic would have a similar winning percentage to a sixth or seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Orlando has shown no signs of intentional tanking, so expect a competitive game here.

  • Start Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
  • Location: FedEx Forum (Memphis, TN)

Betting Odds Summary

  • Spread: Magic +7 (-110), Grizzlies -7 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Magic +240, Grizzlies -285
  • Total: Over/Under 228.5 Points (-110/-110)

Charlotte Hornets (25-51) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (37-38)

No team has had a more surprising and impressive season than the Oklahoma City Thunder, who many people believed would tank once again without Chet Holmgren available. Now, OKC has a legitimate playoff shot behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds per game. The Thunder have also won five straight games at home, and this game against a lifeless Charlotte Hornets team at home is a terrific chance for them to extend their winning streak and continue to make a push toward the postseason.

The Hornets will be limiting key players’ minutes for the remainder of the season, even going as far as implementing a system where its three centers will take turns sitting out. For this game, Mark Williams will be the center that draws a rest day, leaving Charlotte shorthanded. Still, the Hornets have somehow managed to win back-to-back games against the Dallas Mavericks, so this game may not be as straightforward for OKC as it seems.

  • Start Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
  • Location: Paycom Arena (Oklahoma City, OK)

Betting Odds Summary

  • Spread: Hornets +9 (-110), Thunder -9 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Hornets +320, Thunder -390
  • Total: Over/Under 227 Points (-110/-110)

New Orleans Pelicans (38-37) vs. Golden State Warriors (39-37)

This game is massive for both teams, as playoff positioning is crucial, especially in such a tight Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors still won’t have Andrew Wiggins back, as he has no timetable for a return. However, their rotation should be nearly at full health besides his absence.

The New Orleans Pelicans’ rollercoaster season continues, with a five-game winning streak being the most recent upswing. News that Zion Williamson and Jose Alvarado are merely a few weeks away from returning has undoubtedly given this team new life. Now, the Pelicans are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, and with just seven more games left in their regular season, every game matters.

  • Start Time: 7:00 p.m. PT10:00 p.m. ET
  • Location: Chase Center (San Francisco, CA)
  • Spread: Pelicans +8.5 (-105), Warriors -8.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Pelicans +295, Warriors -360
  • Total: Over/Under 235 Points (-110/-110)
