NBA parlay picks Dec. 27: Back Rockets at home on alt spread vs. Suns

Two alt overs and an alt spread make tonight's +259 NBA parlay.

The pregame narrative: The Houston Rockets are a stellar home team, so banking points with them at Toyota Center feels like the right play. Also, overs are hot right now for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the New York Knicks.

Here are some NBA parlay picks for December 27.

NBA oddsas of 9:00 a.m. on 12/27/2023.

NBA parlay picks

Parlay: Knicks/Thunder over 234.5 points + Rockets +7.5 + Cavaliers/Mavericks over 226.5 points (+259)

Knicks/Thunder over 234.5 points (-190): Both the Knicks and Thunder have hit the over in seven of their past 10 games, and I'm hoping that trend continues tonight.

At this particular number, the Knicks have hit the over in seven of their past 10, while the Thunder have hit it in eight of their past 10. They also cleared it in both matchups against one another last season.

OKC put up 129 points last night in a win over the Timberwolves and will now play on zero rest. The over is 3-1 in OKC's games this year when playing with a rest disadvantage.

As for New York, the over is 4-2 when it plays with a rest advantage, per Team Rankings. The Knicks have topped 240 total points in their past two games (vs. Milwaukee on Dec. 23 and Dec. 25).

Other picks

Rockets +7.5 (-152): Banking points with the Rockets at home makes a lot of sense — even with the team playing on zero rest.

Houston lost by six at home last night to the Pacers. The Rockets have now covered a +7.5 spread in 14 of 15 home games, as well as 10 of 12 games overall this month.

The visiting Suns are in the midst of a 3-9 slide, and they're just 1-11 ATS in that span. Phoenix hasn't covered a -7.5 spread in over a month.

Last year, Houston took two of three games off Phoenix — including a 111-97 victory at Toyota Center.

Cavaliers/Mavericks over 226.5 points (-162): Both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks hit the over more often than not, and this is a number they should be able to clear together.

The Cavaliers have gone over 226.5 points in five of their past seven games, while the Mavericks have hit that over in 13 of their past 16. Also, the over is 9-5 when Dallas is at home this season.

Cavs leading scorer, Donovan Mitchell (27.7 PPG), is questionable to play on Wednesday. If he returns from a three-game absence, that would certainly be a plus for this pick.
