NBA picks: Bulls vs. Heat prediction, odds, over/under, spread, injury report for Thursday, Dec. 14

The Chicago Bulls (9-16) will look to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit the Miami Heat (14-10) Thursday evening. The Heat have won two in a row, but are on the second night of a back-to-back set tonight. These teams have played twice this season so far, splitting both meetings.

Alex Caruso is questionable for the Bulls, while Zach LaVine remains sidelined with a long-term foot injury. The Heat haven’t officially submitted an injury report yet, but we can expect Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro to remain out. The status of Jimmy Butler on the second night of a back-to-back is worth monitoring.

The Heat are 4-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 216. Miami is -180 on the moneyline while Chicago is +150.

Bulls vs. Heat, 7:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Heat -4

The Heat are 6-4 straight up at home, but only 3-7 ATS. They are 3-5 ATS as the home favorite, so there’s not much to be confident about for Miami on a back-to-back. The Bulls aren’t great on the road, going 2-9. Chicago is 4-7 ATS as the road team this season.

The Bulls won the first meeting between these teams 102-97, before the Heat responded two days later in a 118-100 result. If Butler does suit up, I like the Heat to keep their winning ways going at home and cover this line.

Over/Under: Over 216

These teams aren’t actually that poor when it comes to going over totals. Miami is 11-13 on overs while Chicago is 15-10. The Heat are 5-5 on overs as the home team, largely because their totals are set lower due to their defensive reputation. Over the last five games, the Heat are averaging 114.2 points per game and the Bulls are up to 118.2 points per game. With a lower total, I like the over to hit Thursday evening.
