NBA Player Props Predictions 1: James Harden, Clippers Over 9.5 Assists (-105) DK
Los Angeles Clippers point guard James Harden is averaging 8.4 assists per game through the first 32 games of the season while only recording double digit assists 12 times.
However, he’s recorded 10+ assists in four of his last five games and 9 of his last 15 games. During those 15 games, Harden has landed on 9 assists three times.
The Memphis Grizzlies allow the 6th most assists per game to opposing point guards with an average of 9.52 per game.
Harden posted a 13-assist performance in his last head-to-head game against Memphis on December 29th.
Tonight, Harden won’t have to deal with the defense of Marcus Smart and/or Ja Morant which will give him time set up his teammates for strong shot opportunities.
You could also consider a Harden double-double at +110 odds, but we’ll play it safe with over 9.5 assists at -105 for the purposes of this article.
NBA Player Props Predictions 2: Paolo Banchero, Magic Under 41.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115) DK
Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero is averaging 22.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists for an average of only 34.8 Points + Rebounds + Assists through the early part of the 2023-24 campaign.
Banchero has fallen short of 42+ PRA in 24 of 37 games on the season for a 65% success rate to the under but he has gone over in 6 of his last 7 games.
However, he has never cleared this total in four chances against the Miami heat with 26, 36, 30 and 25 PRA for an average of only 29.3 per game.
The Heat have held opposing power forwards to an average of only 36.85 PRA. During Banchero’s four games against Orlando, he played an average of 36.6 minutes per game including a 43-minute game and he still couldn’t eclipse this number.
Franz Wagner is out but Banchero only recorded 23 PRAs in his last game against a tough Minnesota defense without him. I’m sure he clears 23 tonight as Miami isn’t as strong defensively but 42 is a lofty expectation.
