Nearly one million dollars was bet on the Super Bowl this year in Montana.

According to Sports Bet Montana, which runs the only gambling book in the state, a total of $977,352 dollars was bet on Super Bowl 58 between the Chiefs and 49ers. That's a 31% increase from last seasons Super Bowl which had a total handle of almost $750,000.

The payout also increased by 53%. The public as a whole lost a total of $121,181 dollars last season and just 20,276 dollars this year.

A total of 41,392 bets were placed on the game.

For those that follow Shaun Rainey, his special boosts finished the year with the public playing in $28,084 dollars and paying out $50,819, that's a $22,735 profit for the public.
