As of this writing, the public is favoring the Aggies in this game. Our CFB Public Betting page shows that 76% of public bets are on NMSU +2.5. Note that these numbers are subject to change and could be different once game time rolls around.

Diego Pavia delivered a winning effort for the third week in a row, as he passed for 186 yards, rushed for 96 more, and tossed a pair of touchdown passes. The Albuquerque native has picked things up since the start of conference play, as he’s thrown multiple touchdown passes in five straight games, while he’s found the endzone with his legs in each of the last three. Pavia has passed for 1,801 yards, with 16 touchdowns to five interceptions, and he’s rushed for 527 yards and four more scores through eight starts.

Hank Bachmeier replaced Jack Turner as the QB1 against MTSU, and he finished the game rather well, going 16/24 for 178 yards, with a touchdown. The former Boise QB has been through a lot over the past two seasons, and it was nice to see him thrive in a return to the field. Bachmeier brings a ton of experience to the position, and he’ll look to capitalize on what may be his final opportunity at the college level, if he gets the nod again. Bachmeier has thrown for 934 yards, with six touchdowns to two interceptions through five games this season.

NMSU is 6-2 against the spread with a 3-5 o/u record.

LT is 3-5 ATS, with a 4-4 over/under record.

The quarterback change may just be what Louisiana Tech needs to turn the tide here in the final third of the season, but the momentum New Mexico State brings in may just be too much to ignore. As profitable underdogs, the Aggies will be worth a shot here in the first game of the Week 9 slate. NMSU QB Diego Pavia has been playing at a level as of late, and there’s a chance he could thrive here against an inconsistent LA Tech defense.
