The Pelicans signed Zion Williamson to a contract extension and drafted Dyson Daniels with the No. 8 pick in the draft.
The New Orleans Pelicans finished with a record of 36-46 last season. Lonzo Ball was traded to the Bulls, Jonas Valanciunas came to New York from Grizzlies, and Zion Williamson started out on the sidelines. Brandon Ingram played well last year, but he could see a decline in his usage rate and assists. Williamson signed a five-year, $231 rookie maximum contract this summer. He will play with Brandon, CJ McCollum and Jonas Vannciuna. New Pelicans are odds-on to win the NBA title in 22nd season (DraftKings).
