A pair of College Football Playoff semifinals and the penultimate weekend of the NFL season loaded with playoff implications? Sounds like a captivating gridiron weekend for casual fans and sports bettors alike. And the fact that football-mad Ohio launches both retail and mobile sports betting on Sunday? The icing on top of the pigskin cake.

Saturday features four bowl games. The College Football Playoff semifinals highlight the day. Michigan will square off against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl. Meanwhile, Georgia will clash with Ohio State in the Peach Bowl. In the NFL on Sunday, four teams will fight for playoff berths.

As for Monday, there will be four more bowl games, including the Cotton and Rose. Meanwhile, on Sunday, an NFL game between Buffalo & Cincinnati could determine the top playoff seed.

So yeah, it’s a big New Year’s football weekend. And as usual, the top legal and licensed U.S. sportsbooks have all kinds of specials and other unique wagers to help sports bettors grab a piece of the action. Here’s a look at the top specials for this weekend.

New Year’s College Football Betting

FanDuel has loads of specials listed on Saturday’s two national semifinal games, which begin with No. 2 Michigan against No. 4 TCU in Glendale, Ariz.

The book is offering +900 odds on Horned Frogs QB Max Duggan to finish with 300 or more passing yards and three passing TDs. The Heisman finalist outdid those numbers four times this season. You can grab Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy to have 300 passing yards and three passing TDs at +1100. Unlike the opposing signal-caller, the sophomore has only cashed that ticket once in 2022.
