Newsboy's horseracing tips for Monday's three cards, including Brighton Nap

Brighton can prove another enjoyable day out for the John Gallagher stable while Joe Fanning can be among the winners at Chepstow

INTERCESSOR (5.20, NAP) could be the answer to punters' prayers on his return to Brighton today.

He has run consistently well all year without being able to add to his win record but his turn can’t be far off after a recent third over 1m at Leicester last month.

Back in the spring over course and distance, Intercessor was grabbed late by Otago who beat him by three quarters of a length.

He is now 6lb lower in the handicap and can ensure the trip from Oxfordshire is another rewarding one for trainer John Gallagher, who has recorded half his wins this year at the seaside track.

HEY LYLA (3.20, NB), rated in the 80s at the start of the year, has been gradually coming down the weights and ran her best race for a while at Newmarket last time.

It turned out she had an impossible task against easy winner Isle Of Jura in July but she plugged on to finish second.

Joe Fanning made all on her when she ran out the easy winner of a maiden over 7f at Ayr in May and the same tactics can pay off again at Chepstow.

FIVE TOWNS (6.00) can make a winning return off an 82-day in the 1m fillies’ handicap at Windsor.
