NHL Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (2/12)

Great slate of games tonight, and we’ll feature three, with at least one team trying to make a playoff run.

And here are our other top picks for Sunday:

Today’s Best NHL Bets

Seattle Kraken (-162) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (+132) | O/U 6.5 (-115/-105)

The Kraken are in need of wins. They are just 3-6-1 in their last tens games, and others teams are starting to creep up in the Western Conference Wild Card standings.

The offense that scores 3.48 goals per game has been non-existent lately. They’ve scored just ten goals in their last five games, so David Hakstol has been changing up line combinations to try and spark something.

Even worse, they will be without points leader Andre Burakovsky as he was placed on injured reserve.

The struggling season continues for the Flyers. On a positive note, they do have a couple of upset wins recently against Winnipeg and Edmonton.

Those two wins came with Carter Hart between the pipes, but on the second leg of a back-to-back, Felix Sandstrom, who’s 1-7-1, will start.

If the Kraken can’t win against a bad team playing their backup goalie, it might be time to hit the panic button.

Pick: Kraken 60 minute ML (+110)

Edmonton Oilers (-275) vs. Montreal Canadiens (+220) | O/U 6.5 (-134/+110)

The Oilers put up just one goal recently in a loss against the Flyers, but the time to panic about their offense was short-lived as they threw up six on Saturday against Ottawa.

Connor McDavid had come into Saturday without a goal in back-to-back games, but he earned the one star with a goal and two assists. Leon Draisaitl went pointless in that span before grabbing two assists.

The Canadiens are in a complete rebuild, but they have some pieces to build on.

Nick Suzuki was well-deserving of an All-Star appearance with 41 points, Kirby Dach has set career highs this season, and hopefully, they’ll have Cole Caufield at the start of next season.

Edmonton goalkeeper Stuart Skinner is 1-2-3 in his last six decisions, but he allowed just one goal in that shootout loss to Philadelphia. I like him against another bad offense, and Edmonton should have another great offensive outing against an awful defense.

Pick: Oilers -1.5 (-105)

San Jose Sharks (+160) vs. Washington Capitals (-194) | O/U 6.5 (-110/-110)

The Sharks are nowhere near a playoff-caliber team, but they recently had a couple of upset wins against the Lightning and Penguins.

The offense has been contributing — Timo Meier is projected to get 40+ goals, Erik Karlsson is having his best season in San Jose, and Tomas Hertl is projected to have a 70-point season.

Injuries continue to be an issue for the Capitals. Tom Wilson returned in early January after offseason knee surgery, but he hasn’t played since before the All-Star break with a lower-body injury. They’re still without notable players like Connor Brown, John Carlson, and Karl Hagelin, and none have a timetable for their return.

The Sharks have a two-day rest advantage, with Washington picking up a big win in Boston on Saturday. I’m expecting a letdown for the Capitals and the Sharks grab another road upset.
