NHL Odds: Avalanche-Canucks prediction, pick and How to Watch

Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks are playing each other on Thursday night. Colorado is on a four-game losing streak and one point behind the final wild-card spot. Vancouver is 16-18-3 and have a year-long postseason drought.  The last time the Canucks played Colorado, they were beaten 6-2 at home.

The Avalanche are 19-14-3 and are playing on the road in Vancouver tonight. They are very short-handed and need Alexandar Georgiev to be on his best form. The Avs have been poor on their power play lately. Nathan MacKinnon returned to the team after a month out with an upper-body injury. He has scored on none of his eight chances since his return.

The Canucks have lost three straight games and are near the bottom of the Pacific Division Standings. They have a good record against the spread, but their success will depend on their defensive play. Elias Pettersson is the team's second-best player with the puck and has recorded a team-high 44 points. The last time the Canucks played Colorado, they won 4-3. The team has allowed the third-most goals in the entire league.

Avalanche are struggling, but it's easier to have faith in the defending champions from a year ago.
