NHL parlay picks Feb. 24: Bet on Oilers to beat Flames

A 13-game NHL slate gives bettors a buffet of parlay possibilities.

The pregame narrative: The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Colorado Avalanche in a game that should feature plenty of goals. The Vegas Golden Knights are an underdog worth backing against the Ottawa Senators. Thirdly, I'm betting on the Edmonton Oilers to beat the Calgary Flames.

NHL oddsas of 1:06 p.m. on 02/24/2024.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Maple Leafs vs. Avalanche over 5.5 goals + Golden Knights moneyline + Oilers moneyline (+338)

Maple Leafs vs. Avalanche over 5.5 goals (-250): Goals are expected in a showdown between two of the NHL's top offences.

Toronto ranks first in goals per game (3.68) this season and has scored four-plus goals in six consecutive outings.

Colorado isn't far behind, tying for second in goals per game (3.64). The Avs jump to first in goals per contest at home (4.26) this year.

In addition to being a great offence, Colorado is also a poor team between the pipes. It ranks 24th in team save percentage (.893), according to Natural Stat Trick.

The Avalanche have the second-highest overs percentage (60.3%) in the NHL, according to Scores and Odds.

Other parlay picks

Golden Knights moneyline (-103): Vegas is banged up but I'm picking it to beat Ottawa.

Jack Eichel and Mark Stone are both out for Saturday's contest. The team is getting healthier on the back end, however, with the recent return of Shea Theodore.

Ottawa has lost three of its last five and is returning home for the first time in a week. Goaltending remains an issue for the squad as it places last among all teams in save percentage (.883).

That's where the Golden Knights hold a significant advantage in this contest as they place fifth (.909) in the category.

They've also done well for themselves on the road lately, winning four of their last five as visitors.

Oilers moneyline (-175): Lastly, I'm rolling with the home team in the Battle of Alberta.

Edmonton has dominated this rivalry in recent meetings, winning each of the last four and eight of the last nine (including playoffs).

The Oilers are playing on zero days' rest, but that hasn't been a huge deterrent. The sample size is small but they've won two of three.

Calgary has lost three of its last five contests and has lost 16 of 29 road games this year.
