Nick Bakay's next project about a bookie doesn't seem like much of a gamble for HBO Max

Nick Bakay and his wife Robin used to have a weekly ESPN betting segment about losing bets. It was canceled because the NFL wasn't comfortable with it. Baky is working with Chuck Lorre on an upcoming HBO Max series, "How to be a Bookie" starring standup comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The series is set in California. It's set here in modern day Los Angeles. There's a team in Vegas. California is one of the few holdout states. In Bakays opinion, the league is more comfortable in its embrace of gambling than in the past. He wrote and produced the popular Lorres sitcom "Mom" and worked on Lorra's "Young Sheldon".
