No. 1 Georgia tries to launch dynasty against emboldened TCU

Georgia is playing in the College Football Playoff championship game against TCU. Georgia coach Kirby Smart won the national championship last season. TCU went from 5-7 last year to within a victory of its first national title since 1938.  The winner will be announced at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game will take place Monday night. It's the first CFP championship match without Nick Saban as the opponent. He won six titles during his time at Alabama. His team lost the title game in overtime in 2018. Texas went to 7-5 last term and lost its coach before the season ended.

Georgia and TCU are playing in the CFP title game on Monday night. TCU is the underdog, but the team is confident and has a lot of confidence in its players. Georgia has one of the best defenses in college football history. The team's quarterback is a sophomore, Bennett. Georgia won the national championship in 1980. Only three teams have won consecutive national titles since 1980: Nebraska, USC and Alabama. It's a repeat of what happened in 2011-12. Texas Tech is 11th in yards per play. Florida won in Peach Bowl. They have a nation-leading 21 plays of 50 yards or more.
