No. 16 Duke opens as two touchdown underdogs to No. 4 FSU

Duke Football has taken care of business in their first six games, winning five of them in blowout fashion and showing they're a complete program that can come away with a victory in more ways than one. On Saturday night, the Blue Devils were without starting Quarterback Riley Leonard but fed off a suffocating defensive effort and a steady run game to put away visiting NC State 24-3.

With the ACC's top scoring defense having allowed less than ten points per game, Mike Elko's team has a margin for error no matter who's under center that will carry them on to another impressive season record. But the No. 4 Florida State Seminoles will present a tougher task than this Duke team has faced yet this year with a potent offense led by QB Jordan Travis and a pressuring defense of their own.

Heading in to this Saturday's matchup in Tallahassee, it's still unclear if Riley Leonard will be able to go, and the possibility that he'll be injured in six days likely has led to the Blue Devils open as 14-point underdogs. Duke will have their hands full with the Seminoles, but the team has never lost by double digits under Mike Elko in 19 games.

Consider that Tyler Santucci's defense is only allowing an average of 9.8 points per game this year, and the first team defensive unit has only allowed three full-field touchdowns so far this season and you'll understand why this number seems a little high. But Henry Belin's offense showed it's likely going to be an uphill battle against FSU on their home field, so it's understandable that the number could be higher than expected.

Keep an eye on that line as the week goes on for any big movements that could indicate bettors have gotten some inside news that Leonard will be unexpectedly available for the game. Elko will no doubt stay mum about his star QB's health throughout the week as he did the last two weeks heading in to the game against the Wolfpack.

As of now, the official line is that Leonard is "day-to-day" and was considered to be a "gametime decision" before Saturday night's tilt. Leonard was walking around on the field prior to kickoff, but had his ankle heavily wrapped as he prepped for the game.

This weekend's game will be the second time Duke has played on primetime in ABC, with the first game coming against Notre Dame two weekends ago. This game has taken on new importance with the Blue Devils undefeated in conference play along with two other teams - FSU and North Carolina. With no divisions in the ACC any longer, the top two records will face off in the championship game and at this point in the year it's a three-team race.
