Nottingham Forest vs. Eintracht Frankfurt Betting Prediction

Before turning their attention to the Premier League and Bundesliga, Nottingham Forest and Eintracht Frankfurt meet in a final preseason friendly.

One of the few England vs. Germany soccer matches this week, this contest represents the final chance for both managers to get a look at their squad before games start to count. Forest will travel to Arsenal next weekend to begin their EPL campaign, while Frankfurt host Lokomotive Leipzig in the DFB Pokal.

Making a Nottingham Forest vs Frankfurt prediction involves looking at the rest of their preseason results.

Nottingham Forest vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Location of the game: Deutsche Bank Park. Frankfurt, Germany.

Date & Time: Saturday, August 5. 7:30 a.m. ET.

How to watch: ESPN+

Forest played in England against French side Rennes on Wednesday, losing 5-0 and going against the soccer odds. They lost at PSV Eindhoven 1-0 and in a neutral site game against Leeds United 2-0 to end July. A trip to Spain saw Forest beat Levante 2-1 but lose to Valencia 1-0.

Frankfurt started the preseason with a 15-1 demolition of association side FSV Braunfels on July 15. They lost their next two games to association sides with a 2-1 loss at Steinbach Haiger and a 3-2 loss at SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz. The fourth preseason game ended with a 1-1 draw against Dutch side Vitesse.

Forest changed most of their team last summer while heading into the Premier League, and they have made massive changes again this summer.

More than ten players are gone, including the likes of Sam Surridge, Jesse Lingard, Andre Ayew, and Braian Ojeda. Striker Anthony Elanga just joined from Manchester United this week, while Chris Wood came in from Newcastle in June, and right-back Ola Alina joined from Torino last week.

Morgan Gibbs-White returned to the starting lineup against PSV, and Chris Wood grabbed his first start of the preseason as well. Elanga also made his debut, and getting the chemistry right is a big key for manager Steve Cooper in the preseason. Most expert soccer picks have Forest in another relegation battle this season.

Frankfurt finished seventh in the Bundesliga last season, and they make a return to Europe with qualification in the Conference League.

So far this offseason, Frankfurt have brought in defender Willian Pacho from Royal Antwerp and midfielder Hugo Larsson from Malmo and secured a permanent deal with midfielder Eric Dina Ebimbe on loan from PSG.

Frankfurt also added defender Robin Koch on loan from Leeds while only losing major pieces in defender Evan Ndicka.

Mario Gotze, Kevin Trapp, Phillipp Max, and Ellyes Skhiri all started for the Eagles against Vitesse Arnhem. Jens Petter Hauge scored for the second straight match, and Igor Matanovic also has two goals in the last three preseason games.

Both added a pair of goals in the opening slaughter of FSV Braunfels, while American youngster Paxton Aaronson scored four times.

Newcastle are still without defender Steve Cook (foot), limited to 14 games last season. Giulian Biancone (knee) is also yet to return to action after a November injury.

Frankfurt got Trapp back from a last-season injury, but they are without Mahdi Lourne (knee), Lucas Alario (knee), and Ansgar Knauff (collarbone).
