Ricky Stuart was suspended for calling Penrith youngster Jaeman Salmon a weak-gutted dog. The Raiders won the final two rounds and the first game in Melbourne. The Raiders haven't won a premiership in 28 years. Ricky Stuart has won 220 games at the Raiders. The last time the team won the premierships was in 1994. No team has ever won from eighth place in the NRL.

Ricky Stuart won three premierships as a player and one as coach. He has lost three grand finals since 2003. His most recent defeat was the infamous 'six-again' game. He re-signed in July.
