Nuggets at Rockets Prediction

The Houston Rockets play host to the Denver Nuggets at the Toyota Center on Tuesday night.

The Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Clippers in a thrilling 134-124 overtime win on Sunday. Nikola Jokic led the team with a triple-double of 40 points with 17 rebounds and 10 assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 29 points with 11 rebounds while Jamal Murray chipped in with 21 points and 12 assists. As a team, the Nuggets stormed out of the gates to an early 18-point lead, but they never put the Clippers away and had to rally in overtime where they held the Clippers to just four points to finish with the blowout win.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a nine-game slide after getting scorched by the Trail Blazers in a 131-114 road loss on Sunday. Jae’Sean Tate and Alperen Sengun led the team with 17 points each, Daishen Nix added 16 points off the bench while Kenyon Martin Jr. chipped in with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 45 percent from the field and seven of 26 from the 3-point line, but they got off to a poor start and quickly became victims of a career scoring night from the Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard who torched them for 71 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games following a win, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a losing home record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Rockets are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record, 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games overall.

Head to head, the Nuggets are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings in Houston and the Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Nuggets could be shorthanded for this one as Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray are both listed as day to day, while the Rockets have ruled out Jae’Sean Tate and they are keeping an eye on Kevin Porter Jr who is questionable. There are no surprises as to who is favored in this one as the Nuggets have been on fire, while the Rockets have won just two of their last 13 games overall. I have no doubt that the Nuggets will win this one, but they are only 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and this line is quite hefty. I think the Nuggets storm out to a big early lead, but I think the pesky Rockets hang around long enough to get the backdoor cover.
