Odds to win the Champions League: Barcelona is a solid value play
The Champions League is back and Manchester City is favoured to defend their title.
The latest: Pep Guardiola's side won the treble last season and has +200 odds to add another major trophy this year. Bayern Munich is next on the list and should be a serious contender with Harry Kane at striker, while Barcelona is a solid value play.

Man City won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League last season, becoming the second English team to complete a continental treble.
The Sky Blues have most of that team returning plus some significant new additions like Josko Gvardiol and Matheus Nunes. It's no surprise to see them atop the odds board ahead of group play.
Guardiola's team went unbeaten in Champions League action last season, with eight wins and five draws in 12 games. City scored a tournament-high 32 goals — 12 of which came by Erling Haaland — and conceded just five.
They won both of their UCL games 3-1.
Other Champions League choices
Barcelona advanced out of every group stage from 2002 to 2021 before failing to do so in each of the past two tournaments.
It was a disappointing result, but we believe Barca has a revitalized roster that can contend for the trophy this time around.

We can't really call Bayern Munich a value play at +500 but they're certainly a team that intrigues us.
The Bavarian side was in desperate need of a striker after Lewandowski left for Barcelona last season. Well, they got one. Harry Kane was brought in from Tottenham in what was the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history.
The English striker has the second-most goals (213) in Premier League history and has already scored eight goals in six Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich and a goal against Manchester United in the team's Champions League opener.
The rest of the squad is no joke, either. Alphonso Davies, Leroy Sane and Matthijs de Ligt are some of the best players at their positions on the planet.
