Odds to win the MLS Cup: Messi's Inter Miami are heavy pre-season favourites.

MLS is almost back and to no one's surprise, Lionel Messi's Inter Miami are the pre-season favourites to win it all.

The latest: Inter Miami made waves when it signed the Argentine national last season and they've only added to a stacked roster since. The Herons are +250 to win the MLS Cup while the reigning champion Columbus Crew are next on the board. Toronto FC are tied for the longest odds at 100-to-1.

Here are the latest MLS Cup odds.

Best MLS Cup odds

Inter Miami was one of the worst teams in MLS last season ... and then they got Messi.

Turns out that adding one of, if not the, greatest players of all time will fix a team. The Herons missed out on a playoff spot last year simply because there was too much ground to cover after his acquisition.

But with a fresh slate in 2024, the sky is the limit.

Messi is joined by the likes of Leonardo Campana, who led the team with nine MLS goals last season, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.

Other MLS Cup choices

If MLS operated like the Premiership, FC Cincinnati would have been champs.

The team had the best regular season record (20-5-9) and topped the table with 69 points with a plus-18 goal differential. The Garys lost in the Eastern Conference Final in extra time to the eventual champion Crew, though.

Luciano Acosta's 17 regular season goals were good enough for Golden Boot runner-up and he headlines an offence which should be potent in 2024.

Columbus won the whole thing last year but bettors should expect a slight drop-off heading into 2024.

The Crew finished third in the Eastern Conference with 57 points and proceeded to eek through the playoffs winning their first-round series in three games before toppling Orlando City and FC Cincinnati in overtime in their next two fixtures.

They defeated Los Angeles FC 2-1 in the MLS Cup.

Columbus' top scorer, Cucho, is back on the squad but its No. 2 man Lucas Zelarayan left the team to join Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.

Toronto FC's odds

TFC was nothing short of a disaster last season. The squad finished dead last with 22 points in 34 games and fired its coach, Bob Bradley midseason.

Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi are still on the team but the rest of the squad doesn't offer much. It says something that Toronto has the longest odds to win it all.

Expect another underwhelming season from the Reds.
