Ohio State football opponent glance at Rutgers

Ohio State is coming off a win over Wisconsin. It plays Rutgers on Saturday. Rutgers has been near the bottom of the Big Ten for nearly a decade.

Ohio State football team is 4-0 and Rutgers is 3-1. The game is on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.

The Buckeyes are No. 3 in the AP and coaches polls for a fourth straight week. Rutgers has not been ranked since 2012.

Ohio State is a 41-point favorite against Rutgers.

Rutgers lost 27-10 to Iowa. The Scarlet Knights had a perfect start to the season.

Rutgers' rush defense is ranked atop the Big Ten. No running back has totaled more than 64 rushing yards against the Scarlet Knights this season.

Noah Vedral and Gavin Wimsatt were injured against Iowa. Rutgers is down to one scholarship quarterback in Evan Simon. Simon has completed 37 of 64 passes for 352 and one touchdown to two interceptions.

Adam Korsak is Rutgers' best player. He was a second-team All-American last season. Seven of his 16 punts this season have been downed inside the 20-yard line.

After three seasons as Ohio State's defensive coordinator, Schiano is familiar with Ryan Day and Kevin Wilson, the Buckeyes' offensive play-callers. They were assistants together in 2017 and 2018.

Ohio State has won all eight games against Rutgers since Rutgers joined the Big Ten in 2014.
