Olimpija Ljubljana are enjoying their historical European campaign following the elimination of Bulgarian champions Ludogorets.
They have become the third team from Slovenia to secure qualification for a group stage of any continental competition.
The team led by Portuguese manager Joao Henriques stunned the Bulgarians in a stoppage-time drama six days ago at Stadion Stozice.
Max Tim Elsnik found the 92th-minute goal to give Olimpija the lead in the tie as goalkeeper Matev Vidovsek saved a penalty in the 12th minute of stoppage time to help the Slovenians advance to the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Olimpija will face Turkish champions Galatasaray there as the first leg of the tie is scheduled for Tuesday evening in Ljubljana.
The hosts are big underdogs here if we look at the quality of the rosters but we must say that the Turks have by no means impressed us in their double-header against Lithuanian Zalgiris in the previous round.
Okan Buruk’s men advanced past the Lithuanians 3-2 on aggregate thanks to a goal from Dries Mertens who made the difference in the second leg in Istanbul.
That said, Olimpija Ljubljana might struggle to keep things quiet at the back against such a strong opposition.
The Slovenians have conceded at least a goal in all but one of the previous eight outings across competitions.
