Orioles prospect season in review: The fallen prospects
The 2022 minor league season is over. Camden Chat's annual prospect review series takes stock of the Orioles' farm system. This year's series begins with a trio of prospects who haven't been able to keep pace with the rapidly improving system and have stagnated. Díaz, who was the centerpiece of a Manny Machado deal, was a star player in the past but has fallen off the map. He has only 12 home runs in more than 550 plate appearances since returning to action in 2021. He was injured a lot during his last season in minor leagues. His slugging percentage in minors this season was .372.
