Pac-12 picks: L.A. schools at home for critical games; Washington, Oregon venture into the desert as huge favorites

L.A. schools are at home for critical games. Washington and Oregon are big favorites.

Two Pacific Northwest teams are double-digit favorites at Arizona State and Oregon. Both teams lost their season opener. Oregon is undefeated and the team that lost to Georgia. Washington is ranked 21st and is playing at Sun Devil Stadium. The team has lost seven consecutive games there. It should be 90 degrees in Tempe for the 1 p.m. kickoff but 70 degrees there for 6 p.,m start.

Utah is a 4.5-point favorite against UCLA. The game has significant implications for the conference championship. The public isn't sold on the Bruins.

Washington plays Arizona State at 1 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks. The line is Washington -14 (57.5). The Sun Devils are not as bad as they looked before and after Herm Edwards' departure. Shaun Aguano is the new coach.

Washington State takes on USC. The game is on FOX. USC is a 13-point favorite. Washington State's front seven will cause USC trouble.

Oregon is a heavy favorite against Arizona. Arizona is better than Oregon, but not good enough to threaten the Ducks. The teams are expected to cover the spread.

Stanford is a seven-point underdog at home against Oregon State. The Beavers haven't beaten an FBS opponent in more than a year. Stanford's quarterback Chance Nolan injured his neck at Utah and is questionable.

UCLA, Washington, USC, Oregon and Stanford are straight-up winners in the Pac-12. Washington and Oregon are big favorites in Arizona State's game.
