He believes Lisbon Lions' 1967 European Cup success is the greatest achievement of a Scottish team. Lambert played for Celtic for eight years. He feels the weight of history and the standards set by the Lisbon team during his time there. The Lisbon players were all from within a 30-mile radius of Celtic Park. They were the first British team to win the European Championship. It came a year after the Hoops' 12-year title drought. According to Lambert, no other team in Europe will win European Cups with players from a radius within 30 miles of the club's ground.
