Paul Wellens gives exciting World Club Challenge update after being appointed St Helens coach

Keiron Cunningham and Justin Holbrook have changed the course of St Helens. St. Helen finished fourth in 2017 and were a penalty away from making the Grand Final. In 2018, they won a record number of games to finish top of the table but missed out on both major finals. They will win their first Grand final in five years in 2019.

St Helens won four titles in five years. Paul Wellens will replace Kristian Woolf as coach in 2023. Penrith won the last two NRL Grand Finals and contested the third one. Wellen confirms discussions are ongoing about the World Club Challenge in the year 2024. The club are in discussions about taking on Penlith in that year. Ivan Cleary has said “let’s do it”. It is every rugby league fan's dream to see these two sides meet.
