The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship gets underway on Friday night and sees the biggest names meet at the biggest stage for the biggest prize in all of darts.

Michael Smith, despite being the defending champion and the current world number one, heads into this year's championships as fourth favourite at 10/1, and will be in action on opening night on Friday against either Kevin Doets or Stowe Buntz.

World number three Luke Humphries heads into the showpiece event of the season as the 3/1 favourite, having won the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and the Players Championship in the last two and a half months.

Three-time world champion and current Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen will likely be there or thereabouts come the latter stages of the tournament, and is priced as second favourite for the title this time around at 7/2.

Another former winner, Gerwyn Price, is ranked world number five heading into the event at Ally Pally but has the third shortest odds as the Welshman eyes his second world title.

Next in the odds list are three other former world champions, with Gary Anderson, Rob Cross and Peter Wright all priced at 14/1, 16/1 and 18/1 respectively.
