Philadelphia Phillies vs Houston Astros World Series Preview

Philadelphia Phillies are back in the World Series. They will play the Houston Astros. The Astros won 106 games this season and have been in World series four of the last six years. Houston won the only regular season series of them two.

Aaron Nola will start for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of the World Series against Houston Astros. Zack Wheeler will take the ball in the second game. Ranger Suárez will get the start in game 3. Bailey Falter and Noah Syndergaard will be the bullpen's third and fourth pitchers.   The team won the NLCS 10-6 thanks to their offense and a strong showing from their bullpen.

Bryce Harper is having a great postseason. Rhys Hoskins had a fantastic series at the plate. Kyle Schwarber struggled against the Braves but came alive against Padres. The Phillies have scored 35 runs in 5 home games and clubbed 12 home runs. They are undefeated at Citizens Bank Park this postseason and they are going to the World Series.   Houston Astros are the team that has the best pitching.

Seranthony Dominguez had a bad outing in Game 5 of the World Series. Brad Hand has been a disaster for the Phillies this postseason, posting a 7.36 ERA in five appearances.

Nick Castellanos is hitting .220 with a .586 OPS in 11 games. He's been hitting fifth behind Bryce Harper. Castelanos needs to work counts and be a threat with runners in scoring position.

The Houston Astros are going to play the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. Their starting pitching is strong, with Justin Verlander, Framber Valdez and Lance McCullers. Verterlander is the favorite to win a third Cy Young Award. The team has many strengths, but their starting rotation is perhaps their biggest. They led the Majors in fWAR (19.4) and were second in ERA (2.95).

Dusty Baker will choose a starter for the World Series. Cristian Javier will probably start, while Luis Garcia could come out of the bullpen. Javier had a 2.54 ERA in 148.2 IP and 11.7 K’s per nine this season.

Yordan Alvarez is the most underrated hitter in the game. Jose Altuve is struggling at the plate in this postseason. Alex Bregman has been a big success for the Astros. The Houston bullpen is loaded with talent and an embarrassment of riches. They didn't have a left-handed reliever on their ALCS roster and probably won't for the World Series. Ryan Pressly has not allowed a run and has allowed only two hits in 5.1 IP this postseason. Jose Abreu has been electric this season for Houston. The Phillies will see their former closer Héctor Neris.

Yuli Gurriel is making up for a poor season with a strong postseason. He's hitting .367 with .934 OPS and two home runs in seven games. Houston first basemen were 29th in the league in fWAR and OPS in regular season. Trey Mancini struggled and is 0-12 in postseason games for the Astros.
