Philadelphia Union clinch first place in Eastern Conference of MLS playoffs with 4-0 win over Toronto FC
The Union clinched first place in the Eastern Conference with a 4-0 rout of Toronto FC. Dániel Gazdag scored a hat trick. The team finished the year with 26 goals conceded, a record for the most goals allowed in a 34-game campaign. Montreal scored twice in seven minutes at Inter Miami. Montreal would have lost the tiebreaker on points for first position if it hadn't scored. Inter scored seven goals in 10 minutes. Toronto scored two goals within 10 seconds. A penalty kick and a goal from Mikael Uhre helped the Union to win. It was the 13th shutout of the season.

New York City FC vs 6. Inter Miami, 3. NY Red Bulls vs 5 FC Cincinnati, and 4. FC New Haven vs 4 FC Miami. Union will host the winner of the Red Bull-Cincinnati game on Oct. 20 or 23.
