Phoenix Suns Coach Replacement Odds & Top Candidates

With Monty Williams relieved of his coaching duties in Phoenix, the focus has shifted to who will lead the talent-laden Suns next season.

Williams, 51, was the 2022-23 NBA Coach of the Year but was fired Saturday, two days after the Suns were eliminated in six games by the Denver Nuggets of their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals series.

“Embarrassing,” star Kevin Durant said of the team’s blowout loss to the Nuggets, ending the Suns' season. "It was a bad feeling.”

The new coach will inherit a team with top-flight players Durant and Devin Booker under contract and will no doubt have the Suns as one of the favorites next season.
