Pirates Preview: Oviedo Back in St. Louis Facing Former Club

Pittsburgh Pirates (59-97) are on the road to face the St. Louis Cardinals (90-66) on Friday, Sept. 30. First pitch is at 8:15 p.m. eastern. The Pirates are fresh off of a three-game sweep against the Reds. Kevin Newman sent the Pirates home in extra innings to beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3.

Beautiful weather is expected in St. Louis at first pitch. Temperatures are expected to be around 65 degrees.

Johan Oviedo is back in St. Louis to start against the Cardinals. Jack Flaherty is the other starter. The Cardinals won the last game against Pirates on September 10. Pirates are second worst in MLB with 1,459 strikeouts.

The Cardinals are the favorites on the moneyline at -210 and the Pirates are +175. The O/U opens up at 7.5 runs.
