Ranger Suárez is entering his first year of arbitration eligibility. The Phillies would be wise to buy out all three of his arbitration years and an addition year or two of free agency.
The Phillies want to win the World Series next year. They should sign Jacob deGrom to a similar deal as the one signed Carlos Correa to last season. He would be an all-time rotation with Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola and Ranger Suárez.
Bryce Harper and the Phillies made history in 2019 when they agreed to a $13-year, $330 million contract. The potential for another $300 million deal is there for Philadelphia. Correa and Turner could push the $ 300 million threshold.
The Phillies are going to sign a shortstop. Alec Bohm is coming off a promising 2022 and is under team control through 2026. Jean Segura is still available. Dave Dombrowski talked about Edmundo Sosa as a viable everyday starter. The Phillies will swap Bohm for a mid-rotation starter or late-game reliever.
