Poll: What regular season record do you expect now in 2023?

The No. 18 Miami Hurricanes are 4-0 going into the bye week.

UM has performed at a high level during the non-conference portion of the schedule, earning victories over Miami of Ohio, Texas A&M, Bethune-Cookman, and Temple.

Miami is averaging 43.8 points per game on offense while allowing 12.5 points defensively.

The Hurricanes have an average margin of victory of 28 points against FBS opponents, which ranks fifth best in the country.

UM’s best victory came in week two against then No. 23 Texas A&M, 48-33, at Hard Rock Stadium.

Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has been the star for the UM offense through the first four games, throwing for 1,042 yards with 11 touchdowns and one interception while completing 74.7 percent of his attempts.

Xavier Restrepo has been Van Dyke’s top target out of the slot, catching 24 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns. Jacolby George leads UM with four receiving touchdowns while also adding 292 yards. Colbie Young has caught 17 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

Henry Parrish has led the Hurricanes on the ground, generating 331 rushing yards and three touchdowns while averaging 7.9 yards per carry.

Defensively, Francisco Mauigoa leads the Hurricanes with 18 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. Defensive tackle Thomas Gore leads Miami with two sacks on the season. Nickel cornerback Te’Cory Couch has picked off three passes in the first month of the season.

The special teams has flashed with kicker Andy Borregales converting 7-of-8 field goal attempts and punter Dylan Joyce is averaging 42.6 yards per attempt. Brashard Smith returned a kick 98 yards for a touchdown against Texas A&M.

Miami will now begin its conference portion of the schedule with eight straight weeks against ACC opponents, which is a slate that includes games against ranked opponents like No. 5 Florida State and No. 15 North Carolina.
