Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Everton in crucial Premier League fixture

Manchester United are back at Old Trafford this weekend and in need of a win against Everton, here’s our predicted line-up for the game.

Erik ten Hag is a man under immense pressure right now at Old Trafford with a new manager being linked with the Manchester United job almost daily.

He hasn’t exactly helped himself either with an embarrassing set-up last weekend against Manchester City which saw a 3-1 defeat sustained.

This weekend sees a substantially easier task presented to United and really a game which should be a comfortable win as it was in the previous meeting between the two with United scoring a 3-0 win.

Injuries however – as expected these days – will play a massive role in the game for Ten Hag and in who he can pick to face the Toffees.

Manchester United predicted line-up vs Everton

Manchester United are dealing with several injuries ahead of the visit from Everton, with Rasmus Hojlund not ready to return along with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and more all still injured.

One man who has been a consistent figure on the team sheet is Andre Onana who will be keen to put himself second in the Golden Glove rankings with a clean sheet here.

In defence, Diogo Dalot should continue as he’s been a standout performer in recent weeks and months. On the left side, injuries mean Victor Lindelof likely starts although it could just as easily be Sofyan Amrabat.

The two centre-halves will be Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans with Willy Kambwala the only other fit option for this game.

In midfield, after a rare off day last weekend, Kobbie Mainoo will be desperate to return to form here alongside Casemiro who has a point to prove.

Bruno Fernandes should start as usual after his assist in the derby but will be disappointed with his all-round performances lately.

On the right wing, Alejandro Garnacho could return to his most impactful position, with Marcus Rashford back in his favoured spot on the left wing after a true world-beating goal against City.

This leaves the striker position open and given the physicality required to play Everton’s two big centre-halves, Scott McTominay is probably the best option we have to choose from this weekend.

It’s unclear how likely Ten Hag is to play him there from the start, but Rashford wouldn’t have a great day against the duo of Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski.
