Predicting Canucks forwards' point totals for the 2022-23 season
The Vancouver Canucks are aiming for the playoffs in 2022-2023 season. J.T. Miller signed an eight-year extension and the team brought in Ilya Mikheyev and Curtis Lazar. The team needs to continue their second-half surge from last season and make it to the postseason.
Elias Pettersson is expected to score 36 goals and have 62 assists in 79 games this season. He is also expected by many to get close to 100 points.
Miller scored 38 of his 99 points on the first unit last season. He wants to focus on his 200-foot game more this season, which could lead to him taking a step back.
Brock Boeser is looking to improve on his previous three mediocre seasons. He will be out for 3-4 weeks after successful hand surgery. Bekero is expected to score 31 goals and have 31 assists.
Bo Horvat is in a contract year and he should be relied on for his two-way play and goal-scoring. HorVat should score 32 goals and assist 22 assists in 72 games.
Conor Garland had a good season last year. He hopes to score 21 goals and 33 assists in 77 games this season.
Nils Höglander has impressed in training camp. He is expected to score 20 goals and assist 25 goals in 70 games this season.
The 2019 10th overall selection will work towards securing a spot in the top-six rotation.
Andrei Kuzmenko is a 26-year-old rookie winger who has played in the KHL. The Canucks are hoping for him to establish chemistry with Pettersson and Ilya Mikheyev.
Viktor Mikheyev secured a contract with the Canucks this summer. He is expected to score 16 goals and assist 10 assists in 55 games in 2022-23 season.
The veteran winger may see a decrease in his role this season with the additions of Mikheyev and Kuzmenko. He should still be relied on to move up and down the lineup and could find himself on Horvat's wing at some point.
The Canucks signed a centreman to take the pressure off of Horvat.
Jason Dickinson will have a specific role on the team which will be defensive zone starts and penalty killing.
