Prediction: New York Rangers, 2022-23 Stanley Cup champions

The Rangers are in a good position heading into the off-season. The team doesn't need to dump salary or buy anyone out. Chris Gear joined Daily Faceoff in January after a 12-year run with the Vancouver Canucks. He was the club's Assistant General Manager and Chief Legal Officer. He also had responsibility for contract negotiations, CBA compliance and roster and salary cap management. Gear was also the vice president and general counsel of the Canucks' AHL franchise. His previous work included the hockey operations department. It was thought that the Rangers would be rebuilding and losing. They are going to be better because of internal growth and the ability to add pieces.
