Premier League predictions: Gameweek 16

Manchester City will go top of the table if they beat Brentford in Saturday's early kick-off. The Premier League has been busy since early August to make room for the 2022 World Cup. There are no more fixtures until Boxing Day. The last round of fixtures is before players are released for international duty on Monday. Depending on the results, there could be a new leader and a bottom club.

Bournemouth and Everton played each other in the Carabao Cup recently. Bournemans won 4-1. Everton have been on a poor run in Premier League recently, but won one game and lost one in their last three.

Nathan Jones takes charge of his first game in charge at Southampton. Liverpool have won nine of the last 10 games against the Saints. Bournemouth and Everton are going to play each other in the Premier League in Gameweek 16.

Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace haven't met since 2012. Forest are bottom of the table but have taken points off Brighton and Brentford. Palace have won four of their last six Premier League games.

Antonio Conte's team lost to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. Spurs haven't had a good run of late, winning only one of their last five domestic games and losing four of them. Leeds have beaten Liverpool and Bournemouth recently, but lost in the Carabao Cup to Wolves. Jesse Marsch's side are on a four-game losing streak.

Leicester have been a different team since the start of October. Leicester have won four of the seven Premier League games they have played during that time. West Ham have lost three of their last four league games.

Newcastle have taken 19 points from the last 21 available to them to surge into the top three. Eddie Howe and Miguel Almiron won Premier League Manager of the Month and Player of The Month awards respectively for October. Chelsea haven't won a Premier league game since 16 October and they lost to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal will be top of the Premier League on Christmas Day if they beat Wolves. Wolves have one last game in charge of interim head coach Steve Davis.

Brighton beat Chelsea in midweek and beat Wolves in their last Premier League game. Aston Villa have been struggling since Steven Gerrard was sacked last month. Unai Emery's side lost to Manchester United and to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup mid week.

Manchester United played Aston Villa twice recently, losing 3-1 and winning 4-2. Erik ten Hag has pledged his support for Anthony Martial. Fulham were hot favourites for relegation when the season began, but have lost only one game more than United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
