Premier League prop bets for Matchday 4: Bet on Julian Alvarez to score

We're targeting two players in this week's Premier League prop bets.

The pregame narrative: Manchester City are massive home favourites over Fulham and Julian Alvarez holds reasonable odds to score. Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski snapped a lengthy goalless drought last weekend and we're backing him to record a shot on target this Saturday.

Best Bet: Alvarez to score (+135)

As of Wednesday morning, Manchester City are -625 to beat Fulham on Saturday and are -137 to score three-plus goals.

This game has blowout written all over it and Erling Haaland was naturally our first thought to find the goal. But the Norweigan superstar is a mind-bending -295 to score, and we refuse to put up with that kind of juice. That said, Alvarez is a great plus-money option.

The Sky Blues have an embarrassment of riches up front. Alvarez didn't see a ton of Premier League action last season even though he was an integral part of Argentina's World Cup run. The 23-year-old forward started in just 13 of his 31 appearances but still managed to tally nine goals.

Things are different this time around. Pep Guardiola has started Alvarez in all three of Manchester City's Premier League fixtures this season and the Argentine has shined.

He registered an assist and three shot attempts against Burnley in City's opener, scored a goal on Matchday 2 against Newcastle, and most recently registered eight shot attempts and three shots on target against Sheffield United.

He didn't score in that game but the chances were plentiful. Fulham were a solid midtable team last year but still conceded the third-most shots on target (5.15) per game.

Key stat: Alvarez has the second-most shot attempts (12) on Manchester City this season, three behind Haaland (15).

Quick pick

Kulusevski over 0.5 SOT (-120): Kulusevski snapped a 20-game goalless drought for Tottenham last week and the relief on his face was palatable. In all fairness to the Swedish forward, he was stuck in an Antonio Conte formation last season that refused to attack.

Agne Postecoglou's Spurs have been the polar opposite so far.

Kulusevski has started all three of their EPL fixtures and has recorded a shot on target in each of the last two. Tottenham are playing a recently-promoted Burnley side that has conceded three goals in both of their EPL fixtures.
